GROWING CONFIDENCE, FRIENDSHIP AND FAITH

The Girls’ Brigade is a Christian youth organisation open to girls and young women. It offers girls a safe and welcoming space to have fun, make friends, learn new skills, and explore life and faith together through a balanced programme of activities. Girls’ Brigade Scotland is part of a worldwide family of Girls’ Brigade companies that work within Christian principles to support young people locally and nationally.

Here in Bathgate, our Girls’ Brigade meets every Wednesday in the Large Hall.

WHAT WE OFFER

Girls are grouped by age so they can take part in activities that are fun, supportive and appropriate for their stage:

Explorers (P1–P3) 6:15–7:15pm
Juniors (P4–P7) 7:00–8:30pm
Brigaders (S1–S6) 7:00–8:30pm

Each week includes a mix of games, creative activities, challenges and opportunities to grow in confidence and friendships. Girls also work toward badges and awards that help them develop physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.

WHO CAN JOIN?

Girls in Primary 1 through S6 are very welcome to come along. There’s no need to book - just come and try it out. If you’d like to ask a question before you come, you can contact the church office

A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

Our Girls’ Brigade is led by trained adult volunteers who follow the church’s safeguarding policies. We aim to create a space where every girl feels valued and supported. You can read more about our safeguarding approach on our Safeguarding page.

Girls’ Brigade companies in Scotland follow age-appropriate programmes that help girls develop in areas including spiritual life, education, service and physical activity, all in a safe and friendly environment.

Girls’ Brigade is about more than weekly meetings - it’s about growing confidence, making lasting friendships, and having memorable experiences together. Whether it’s working toward badges, participating in local events, or simply enjoying games and activities with peers, Girls’ Brigade is a place to belong and flourish.
